Regular blood pressure monitoring in pets are has become a vital part in small animal medicine. It is a minimal invasive tool that provides useful information to identify early markers in disease, and to monitor patients with known hypotension or hypertension due to underlying disease.
As mentioned above blood pressure monitoring is non-invasive and will not cause any pain to your pet, the main reason for providing this service is due to the fact that stress and anxiety in the Veterinary facility setting may cause elevated readings, that can falsely indicate hypertension.
